Listening Well: Motivational Interviewing Skills for Enhancing Client Engagement, Improving Self-Efficacy, and Promoting Positive Change
This interactive workshop will draw upon the work and counseling techniques of Bill Miller, creator of Motivational Interviewing, and decades of research and evaluation in empathic listening and accurate empathy. We will explore conversation roadblocks and contributing factors to miscommunication, as well as clinical intervention and practice skills for enhancing understanding, reducing conflict, and promoting positive change.

Denice Crowe Clark, PhD, LMFT is a licensed marriage and family therapist and member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers. She has over a decade of experience training healthcare professionals and clinicians in Motivational Interviewing. She is also the owner of Sole to Soul Therapy & Consulting, a dedicated walk-and-talk therapy practice in midtown Atlanta, and she is a former counselor at the Training and Counseling Center at St. Luke’s.
